Star Trek or Lord of the Rings: which is better or more worthwhile? Pt 4

Lord of the Rings is a book trilogy about the adventures of a hobbit named Frodo and his 3 hobbit friends to destroy the One Ring and thus end the the power of the evil spirit Lord Sauron. The hobbits  continue their journey with Gandalf, a wizard, Gimli, a dwarf, Legolas, an elf, Boromir, a man, son of the steward of a kingdom called Gondor which will receive the brunt of the invasion of Sauron and Aragorn, a man, rightful heir of Elessar and Gondor and bearer of the sword that was reforged.

Yes, eventually Sauron and the One Ring are destroyed, of course, but it's the adventures along the way that make up the books. It's all very detailed and the author, J. R. R. Tolkien, is very descriptive and writes in a way that makes you feel like you were there yourself. He also has poetry that is sung in the great halls of Gondor and elsewhere written in excerpts in the book.

This is the fellowship of the ring. The hobbits are the four short guys, Gimli has a brown tangled beard and is shorter as well, Legolas has long flaxen locks of hair, Aragorn the dark hair and masterful appearance, Boromir is standing at far right and I'll leave you to guess Gandalf.
